Bria employs a strengths-based and person-centred approach to therapy, integrating techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and resiliency-based strategies. Their therapeutic work is further enriched by a Somatic Healing Certification, allowing them to support clients in reconnecting with the body as a source of wisdom and regulation. In addition, Bria has completed the First Responder Health course: Understanding Firefighter Culture & Trauma, deepening their ability to work effectively with first responders and individuals exposed to high-stress, trauma-laden environments. Since 2021, Bria has been teaching in the public school system, specializing in English, Social Studies, and Fine Arts. They also have experience teaching English as a second language to children in China remotely. This combination of in-person and online teaching has strengthened their understanding of diverse learning needs and effective pedagogical approaches. In 2015, Bria founded Sunday Sandwiches YCC, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and housing scarcity in the Calgary area. This initiative reflects their commitment to community care and social justice. Through this work, Bria has gained meaningful insight into the complexities of homelessness, trauma, addictions, and the rich cultural diversity present across the Canadian mosaic. Overall, Bria’s background equips them with the skills, knowledge, and empathy needed to support meaningful, lasting change in their clients’ lives. If you’re seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable therapist who understands life’s intricacies and is dedicated to guiding you toward clarity and resilience, Bria is ready to walk alongside you on your path.
